Heather Miller

I have been teaching for over thirty years in Kwa-Zulu Natal, Gauteng and now the Western Cape. I live in the heart of Pringle Bay with my partner, Raymond and my 84 year old mother, Ruth, as well as my cats- Padme, Irish and Zeppelin and Petal my Yorkie.

I am passionate about teaching and children. I love the realisation that when teaching with honesty and integrity, I will undoubtedly have a positive impact on the students entrusted to me.

I have two wonderful children, Declan Thomas and Callen Jade. I relocated to Pringle Bay at the end of 2016 to take up the exciting leadership position at Pringle House Eco School. I am blessed with wonderful teachers, supportive parents and delightful students. Together we are going to put PHES on the map!

I am a Christian and I am passionate about many things: art, the theatre, the beach, trees and mountains, History, IUOMA, creating Mandalas, making Altered Books, Collage work, Puppet work, storytelling, Afritwin and gardening.

She adores watching them grow and absorb each new skill with such joy and enthusiasm. She has a quiet demeanor which is wonderful when interacting with babies and toddlers.

Her interests include music, taking long walks with her little boy and her husband.

Bianca Meri Le Roux

Nursery Assistant

I am excited to be a part of the Pringle House community. My little girl is in the Nursery Class and when I heard that the school needed an assistant, I jumped at the opportunity to be more involved.

I’m studying to become a counsellor and observing and working alongside these delightful little humans is a wonderful opportunity for me to see first-hand the various developmental stages as they unfold. Children bring so much joy and laughter into our lives.
I love learning skills gleamed from the staff that I am interacting with as they have a wealth of experience and knowledge that they generously share with me.
I LOVE chocolate, art, music and animals, and adventure. I value honesty, loyalty, integrity and I am a committed Christian.

Storm Meyer

Teacher’s Assistant

My experience with working at Pringle House Eco school as a teacher’s assistant has been absolutely wonderful. I enjoy working with all the kids and seeing their happy faces and bright personalities everyday. It’s not only the children that I’ve enjoyed working with, but the staff too. The staff have been so warm and welcoming and really brighten my days. The atmosphere at the school is like nothing I’ve ever experienced in the school I volunteered at before. It’s a bright, warm and happy atmosphere. I am currently studying, working towards, my Bachelor’s degree in Foundation Phase Teaching. My hobbies are DIY crafts, reading, travelling and having downtime with friends and family.

For many years, I’ve enjoyed working with children. From volunteering at a school in Hermanus, tutoring learners, becoming an Au Pair for two years to now pursuing my dreams as a teacher; I am elated and I look forward to shaping the young minds of children for the rest of my future.

Maureen Reid

Xhosa Teacher

Maureen Reid has been teaching our learners for the past year. She is fluent in isiXhosa and teaches the learners using games, music, songs and oral work. This year the lessons will be slightly more structured to include the written word.

Maureen sums up her passion for the isiXhosa language,

“Learning a new language is not easy.  I have developed an easy non-threatening method of teaching isiXhosa by way of songs; actions; games and competitive interaction.

isiXhosa is a beautifully structured language.  Even though the learners have taken a while to grasp some of the concepts, their enthusiasm has been evident.  My passion for the language has driven me to spend much time in developing the material.  By no means anywhere near an expert, the basics are so important to grasp, that I am satisfied in developing my own skills and imparting them to all those who have a desire to be enriched.”
